Events and External Hire

The clubhouse at Chalfont Park Sports Club hosts many events including social events, wakes and birthday parties (except for teenage and 21st birthdays).

We also host the Constantines Musicians Club & Live music nights, as well as Sunday afternoon jazz sessions. Please read our FAQs below for more details on hiring the clubhouse bar for events.

FAQs

Q: How much does it cost to hire the Bar/Function Room?

A: The Bar & Function Room and associated facilities can be hired for £250. This acts as a non-refundable deposit and payment secures the booking.


Q: How many people can the Bar/Function Room accommodate?
A: 70 people informally.

Q: Do you do exclusive hire?
A: No. Members of the club are entitled to use the bar. However, experience shows us that, once members see that there is an external event, they will either leave the club early or sit in an area away from the guests.

Q: Can guests pay for purchases with cash?
A: No. We operate a CARD ONLY payment system.

Q: Can we put money behind the bar for guests to use?
A: Yes. We can create an account for your event to which money can be deposited by card payment. This can be topped up during the event if necessary. The host may wish to give out ‘tokens’ to guests if there is a set number of allocated drinks per guest.

Q: Do we get discounted rates?
A: Yes. Guests will be entitled to members rates on bar purchases.

Q: What does my hire charge include for a standard party in the Bar/Function Room?
A: The hire of the venue, tables and chairs, bar staff, the cleaner, setting up and putting away the room, use of our sound system and large screen TV for any significant sporting events or to use for a photo slide show, use of the kitchen to prep/store food.

Q: Can we decorate the Bar/Function Room ourselves?
A: Yes. We encourage room decoration on the morning of the event.

Q: Can we organise our own DJ?
A: Yes, or we can recommend one.

Q: Are there any music restrictions?
A: Yes. Music cannot start until league cricket matches have finished. This is usually around 7pm/8pm, but can be earlier.

Q: Is it possible to have an event in a marquee or tent?
A: Occasionally, but not usually during the cricket season. Please contact us for available dates. We cannot pitch marquees on the outfield due to our sporting commitments.

Q: Does the Club charge any additional fees for pitching a marquee or tent?
A: Yes. Charge depends on marquee size, but is usually circa £1000 plus VAT.  The use of the Bar, Function Room and associated facilities are included in this price. The pitching fee is charged direct to the client.

Q: Do you host children’s parties and what is the hire cost?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot host children’s parties due to health and safety concerns.

Q: Are there any types of parties you do not host?
A: I am sorry, but we do not host teenage parties or 21st birthday parties.

Q: Can we organise our own caterers?
A: Yes, or we can recommend caterers.

Q: Can we bring our own drinks?
A: No. We have a well stocked bar. Bringing your own alcohol to the club is illegal. However, we are prepared to discuss corkage for wine and champagne for special celebration events.

Q: Do you have a wedding licence?
A: No

Q: Do we get free run of the ground if we have a party here?
A: No. The ground is not part of the hire agreement. Cricket is the mainstay of the club and that dictates how much of the ground is available for use. Each hirer will be made aware of how much of the ground they can make use of dependant on what cricket match is being played, but you will find that we are very accommodating.

Q: What’s the latest we can hire the venue until?
A: Last orders at 11.50pm, last music at 12 midnight, carriages at 12.30am.

Q: Is parking available around the ground?
A: We have a large, secure car park. Cars can be left overnight, but please inform the Bar Manager.
